Sweet Cheeks

Thanks for letting me spend time with your family. I know those first few months with a new baby are so hectic, and it takes a lot of faith to have a stranger come to your house and rearrange all your stuff!

M. is just the cutest thing. I think her grandma will love the images of her in the dress.
I put a faded, aged look on this one, because she looks like a little vintage doll in this dress on this chair. She has the biggest, prettiest sparkly eyes!

I do believe this is the most incredibly dramatic pose I've ever seen a 3 month old come up with.
The hand on the face makes it feel like she's saying, "Be done with this already!"
Seriously, those eyes are such huge reflectors of light. I know you guys are going to have so much fun taking pictures of her as she grows.
{smirk}
Lovely sleepy little bug.
Some rest after a job well done. Mark this down as the official start of her modeling career!
Talk to you soon!

My Little Love

Ava turned 2 last month. I turned a hobby into a passion because of this little face. (I had to drag her out and entice her to let me take her picture, because that's just the way she is at this age...sigh. The only place she'd let me take the pictures was on the front step of the house.)

I love this girl!
The smile and laughter are contagious!!

P.S.- if you love this little dress as much as I do, check out humblebea's Etsy shop and get one for your little person!

I'm green...

...with envy! I have a serious case of both house and baby envy since meeting you guys this morning. You have an adorable boy and an impeccable sense of style.

I hope you enjoy this sneak peek. He was a pleasure to photograph. (click on an image to see it larger)

I gave lots of these a vintage treatment of sorts, because it really seemed to work with the vibe of your house. Kind of vintage/modern. (which I love)
Totally worth the wet spot on the bed. Totally.
It was fun for me that he was so quick to smile. He made my job so easy!
I love his little wispy curl that's sticking up. :) A very nice shot of you guys, I think.
Thanks for being brave. Hopefully he didn't absorb any toxins from the river. ;)
Nice light on his face in this little nook.
Well, I already know you will have so many to choose from! He's adorable. Talk to you soon!

The Long Awaited Twins

Well, I finally had this awesome family take me up on my offer for a free twin newborn session!!
I was really excited to meet them, and I was not disappointed.
You guys were so much fun to be around! I know I ended up camping out at your house for what must have seemed like half the day, but I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Your girls are truly perfect little miracles, and I'm so glad they are well and healthy after their rough little ride into the world.
I have so much respect for you and the work you have cut out for you. I hope there are many sleep-filled nights in your future. :) I was honored to get to meet you and photograph your family. Hopefully we'll meet again soon.
I'm sure you're having a laugh thinking about how many different ways I arranged you before I got something that felt right! I really love both of these images. (and how rare that both girls had their eyes open at the same time!)
Awww...they look so relaxed . I love how cuddly they are. It's precious.
Two little escape artists, breaking out of the swaddle.
Now, is that a cute little pile of toes or what??
Tiny. Bums. Love!! Feel free to pinch the picture if you need to.
I'm imagining how they were curled up together all those months. They're a perfect little fit.
I'll be in touch with more images from our session in the next few weeks! Talk to you soon!!

Oops- we forgot to take pictures on the car...

:)
It was nice getting to know you guys a little better today.
The kids were great, and very easy to work with.
I hope you're happy with the results...

Many more to come in the next few weeks. Talk to you soon!

Another flashback...

I love repeat customers! It's so fun to see a baby grow and change.
This is a flashback to little E. when I met him months ago...
And here he is now! He is so gorgeous- the curls and the chub rolls make him look like a little cherub!!
The cool boy in the cool chair.
Still looking angelic. He is a perfect miracle baby!
Thanks for having me again, B and R. Next time I'll bring a lollipop. (sorry, A!)
There will be many more to come in the next few weeks. Talk to you soon!

Congratulations, J & D!
I hope the honeymoon was fabulous!
I'll post more pictures on the blog in a couple of weeks, but here's a tease.
P.S.- Thanks for coming along and being such a huge help, Crystal!! :)

Oh, for the energy of a 4 year old...

I'm so glad it didn't rain today! (Even though we all could have used a rainshower after getting so hot outside.) Well, E. is a bundle of cuteness and energy. I hope that some of these images captured who she really is so that you can remember this time in her life forever!

You and your neighbors all had lovely yards. I like the candid feel of this one, whether that was a "real" smile or not. :) I think she looks sweet in both of these, because she was really playing and not posing. I like the vintage treatment on the image. I think it goes well with the pretty old gate.
I love her foot up on the bench. It actually adds something to the picture, I think. Gives it a nice, casual feel.
Blue looks great on her. Really makes her skin glow. So pretty!
OK- had to throw in an outtake- THIS is how you know the session is over. This is actually the last image I took. The look on her face says it all- totally DONE!
I love it.
Well, you guys, it was fun. I'll be working diligently on the rest and be talking to you soon.

For T.

Thanks for your patience! It was cool figuring out that I actually kind of knew you guys. Small world. Your kids were great and very easy to work with.

I think that these shots were totally worth it. You'd never know she wasn't feeling it, would you? I love R.'s expression in the image on the right. I think she looks so grown up there.
I think this was right after she showed me all of her baby pictures. :) She is truly beautiful.
He was the model baby. I can't get enough of little sleeping babies.
This is one of my favorite poses from the day. Couldn't you just squeeze him?!?
What a great idea to go next door to the rose bushes. They are gorgeous.
Awww! Makes me smile when I look at his little bottom lip sucked in and his hand all curled up
I think we had a great session, and I can't wait to go through the rest! Talk to you soon!!

Just a Note

I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to every one of you who has kept me so busy this Spring. It's really nice to be doing something I love!

This time of year is so popular for picture taking, with the warm weather and pretty flowers. You might have noticed on my site that I'm now totally booked through the end of July. For now, I'll only be accepting newborn appointments. Do keep in mind that, if you have a new baby, you can always call to be worked in even in the case of a fully booked schedule. It's so important to catch that newborn stage and all those cute sleepy, curly poses in the first 2 weeks of the baby's life.

Starting in July, I'll begin booking for August and September. Keep that in mind if you might be needing an appointment during those months. Also, watch the blog for special promotions.

Have a great week. There will be more sneak peeks to come this weekend...

More Fun in the Park

I really had fun with you all! It's always nice to be around little busy people. You definitely have your hands full. :) Sorry for the delay on the sneak peek. For some reason, it's been a crazy few days...
I think you are such a cute family. I really like this one in black and white. It really seems to bring the texture of the rocks to life.

OK, one of the only hard-won smiles of the morning. More like a little smirk...but totally adorable.
He.

Is.

So.

Cute.

I love this little moment, and I like the way your two bodies are framing the boys.
One more little almost smile for his mama.
I think he looks really innocent and sweet in this picture.
More to come in the next few weeks!

Mr. H.

So, I was remembering little H. in the bubbles...he's grown a lot since then. (That was September of last year.) For you guys reading, I was reminiscing today with H.'s mom about how he was the first "total stranger" I'd done pictures of when I was first starting out. It was really fun to meet up again today and see how much he's grown and changed. Your referrals have really helped my business grow these past few months!! Thanks :)
(The flashback picture- 09/07)

He's so grown up now! I love this smile, and the drool dripping off his chin.
His expressions here are great. I thought it was so hilarious how he leaned down to look at me like that.
A little bit of a vintage feel on this one. I think it really works with the colors you guys were wearing. and I love H.'s eye contact. I'm sure I was screaming, "Duck, Duck!" to get him to look at me. :)
He loves his mama.
And his daddy (or maybe it was the swing that he was so enamored with...)
He looks so innocent in the picture on the right. Those eyes of his!! They really pull you in.
The end :)
Hope you enjoyed! There will be so many more coming your way in the next few weeks...
